MARKET OPPORTUNITY
-
Market growth for innovative medical products in the new
millennium will be phenomenal. With the increased use of post-surgical
drains for problems such as breast and prostate cancer, transplants
and plastic surgery, the demand will increase greatly - especially
with our aging population and the practice of shorter hospital
stays and sending patients home with dangling and/or taped
drains. Also, within the last 10 years, more and more patients
have shown a sensitivity to latex.
-
What the DRAIN DUO University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
protocol study showed is that the invention replaces the safety
pin. The research demonstrated a significant need for the
invention and received exceptionally positive responses from
surgeons, nurses and patients.
